What are your fees?
Please contact me for information regarding fees. I do have a limited number of sliding scale slots available to those who demonstrate a financial need.
Do you take insurance/Medicare?
While I do accept Medicare (except Medicare Advantage plans), I am an out-of-network provider for all other insurance plans. If you have a health insurance plan with out-of-network benefits, you may be able to receive reimbursement for all or a portion of the therapy fee. Please check your coverage carefully by asking your insurance provider the following questions:
Do I have mental health benefits?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network therapy session?
Do I need pre-authorization before beginning therapy?
For out-of-network benefits, if you wish to seek reimbursement from your insurance company, I will provide you with a monthly, itemized statement, called a Superbill. You may then submit your charges for our sessions to your insurer for reimbursement. Some insurers require that I include a diagnosis of record on the bill. We can discuss how much you wish to share with your health plan.
Do you accept clients with Lyra Health or Modern Health benefits?
Yes.
How can I pay?
To reserve an appointment time for you, I require that a payment card be entered into my secure client portal prior to the first appointment. However, you can pay by cash, check, credit card, or HSA/FSA card. Payment is due at the time of the session.
Can I use my Health Spending Account/Flexible Spending Account?
Yes, psychological services are typically covered by pre-tax Health Spending Acounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), and I am happy to provide a monthly statement for reimbursement.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Therapy appointments are usually weekly and I hold a specific, mutually agreed time for you. For this reason, I require a minimum of 48 hours notice of cancellation (two days), otherwise you are responsible for payment for the session.
Do you provide video appointments?
Yes, but, if you plan to use insurance to cover costs, you should check first with your plan provider whether telehealth is a covered benefit. I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform but you must ensure that you are located in a private setting where you can talk freely. For emergency purposes, I will need to know your location and the phone number of the nearest hospital and police department.
